Laila qualified as a CA(SA) in 2013 after completing her articles at PWC. She joined the Equites team in 2015 and after being actively involved in the finance function for five years, she was appointed as CFO in May 2020.

Aside from her obvious passion for finance, she has a keen interest for environmental, social and governance initiatives, particularly on causes which support educational upliftment in South Africa. She has served as a director on the board of the Michel Lanfranchi Trust (NPC) since its inception and looks forward to growing the impact which the Foundation can make on the lives of the South African youth.
